The Roman Catholic Church in the State of Hawaii (RCCH) includes Maria Lanakila Parish in West Maui which consists of Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina, Sacred Hearts School in Lahaina and Sacred Hearts Mission Church in Kapalua.
The parish’s property in Lahaina is spread across five parcels on 2 blocks:

The Maui wildfire disaster resulted in the full loss of several school buildings.
RCCH desires to study redevelopment for its Lahaina properties as the first step in the rebuilding process. Considerations include but not limited to:
The church building will remain and is excluded from redevelopment. All other lands and buildings are included.
A brand new improved K-8 school and Early Learning Center preschool
Residential use options ranging from continuing rental housing for employees to max number of housing units allowed.
Other land uses based on market conditions.
The work shall include, but not limited to:
Site Analysis:
Conduct a thorough analysis of the site including but not limited to existing site condition, utilities, and infrastructure and zoning.
Identify opportunities and constraints for development.
Preliminary Master Plan Design:
Develop various design options for conceptual master plan.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders including but not limited to RCCH leadership and advisors, stakeholders affiliated with Maria Lanakila church, Sacred Hearts School and the Lahaina community. Solicit input, feedback, and preferences to inform the design process.
Master Plan:
Refine the preliminary master plan based on feedback.
